Sustainability

At Sunfolk Swimwear, sustainability is the essence of everything we create, and our mission is to empower the modern seeker through consciously crafted, high-quality swimwear. While true perfection remains an aspiration, we are devoted to continually refining our practices with intention and care. Every decision is considered, guided by a deep respect for people, a reverence for our precious wildlife, and an enduring commitment to the planet.

Our commitment to thoughtful design extends across every collection, from bikinis and rashies to one-piece swimwear and Women's Surf Suits, made for women who love the ocean.

How We Give Back

Our Garments

Our garments are made from premium certified recycled fabrics, crafted from regenerated ocean waste and plastic bottles that would otherwise clog up our ocean, and then transformed into a high-quality recycled nylon fabric.

Our Fabrics

Our fabrics are not only sustainable, but they’re also luxuriously soft, providing an exceptionally comfortable and high-quality fit.

They also offer UV resistance and UPF50+ sun protection, keeping you safe and protected under our harsh Australian sun.

We also dye and print our fabrics using OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified dyes, meeting the highest safety and environmental standards. This ensures no harmful substances are used throughout the entire fabric and garment production process.

Our Manufacturer

We have carefully chosen to partner with an ethically run manufacturer who shares our values of putting people and the planet first. They have received prestigious awards for providing exceptional working conditions and are deeply committed to giving back, supporting local charities and donating leftover fabric scraps to community initiatives. They also use, innovative digital printing techniques, drastically reducing water usage and waste compared to traditional methods.

Our Packaging

Our eco-friendly practices also extend to our packaging. We use biodegradable mailer bags along with sustainable labels and packaging materials to minimise environmental impact. We also choose to utilise thermal printing on our shipping labels, eliminating the use of inks and dangerous chemicals.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond our packing and into the way we work, with our offices being proudly powered by solar energy, reflecting our responsibility to minimise our carbon footprint at every level of our business.

From start to finish, this means that when your new Sunfolk garments arrive, you can feel confident knowing they’ve been thoughtfully designed, sustainable made, wrapped in biodegradable goodness and fueled by the sun.

We need your help!

Every year, an estimated eight million tonnes of plastic waste and 640,000 tonnes of discarded fishing nets enter our oceans and at current rates, there will be more plastic by weight than fish by 2025.

By purchasing on of our garments, you’re not only supporting a small, Australian, women-led and designed brand, but you’re taking a meaningful step towards cleaner oceans and protecting our environment for future generations.
